Every summary is checked against a fixed set of rules — equal length for both arguments, no editorial framing, no ideology scoring — before it publishes. Mandate accepts no political donations and endorses no candidates, positions, or parties.

Founder
Curtis is a powertrain engineer at Ford Motor Company based in Detroit. He built Mandate by applying the same discipline — take a complicated system apart, understand what each piece does, explain the result in plain language — to federal legislation.
He was not trying to build a civic app. He was building something else when the shutdown coverage started, and both sides were on television explaining what was in the bill while nobody actually read it out loud. He went looking for the bill itself and found sites that were technically public and practically unusable.
He is not a lawyer or a political scientist. What he had was a specific frustration with systems that are public in theory and closed in practice. The kind of analysis that used to be available only to people paying for it by the hour is now something one person can build.
He is the sole founder and operator. There is no investor cap table, no political donor list, no party affiliation guiding what gets built. The independence is the point.
