What it does
This bill would require the Department of Justice to purchase ballistic-resistant body armor only when it is manufactured using ballistic fibers grown, produced, or processed in the United States. It would also require manufacturers to disclose where their armor and its component fibers are made, add that information to the National Institute of Justice's public compliant products list, and prohibit non-domestic products from using "Made in America" labeling. The Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers would be required to train state and local agencies that receive DOJ grants on these disclosure requirements.
